  此基地原為一棟空曠廠房,空間牆面皆以混凝土灌注,呈現出質樸的粗糙觸感。作為一室內設計事務所的所在地,如何貼合原有空間特性,進而賦予空間意義,遂成為此舊廠房改造案的主要議題之一。設計師谷騰表示,為貼合此一混凝土建築之特性,整個空間刻意採用現代、生冷的材料,如水泥、鋼和玻璃作為主要設計元素,促使入口到工作區,甚至一間間的小型辦公室彷若以一塊塊水泥塊體拼合而成,內外呼應,顯露出獨特的靜謐、理性與大器的空間氛圍。

  乘電梯而上,二樓作為主要的辦公空間,梯廳外放置一顆黑色大球體,象徵為地球,帶著些微沈靜悲觀的色彩,隱喻世界之中,美麗和殘缺並存之存在狀態,也點出設計師們欲透過此一簡單而不浮躁的環境迸發設計思維的火花,讓如廢墟一般的廠房,重新注入新生命。

  入口門廳內主視覺,由映入眼簾的大片灰色牆面揭開序幕。接待區旁的會客室擺放著深色簡約的會客椅,對應著牆上灰色反白的人物畫,如裝置藝術般,摒除其他繁雜陳設,簡約而不單調地點出設計公司的空間屬性。辦公區內,保留幾根舊廠房堛漕簽ぁ菗W,以混凝土包裹成厚實、刻意粗糙、凸凹不平的柱體,甚至鋼筋支架隱現或直接裸露於外,一如隱約裸露鋼筋的混凝土牆面一樣,還原著建築的本貌,自然而原始。

  整個空間配置,設計師依據具體的功能和建築風格,設計了若干個的小環境。由平面圖上可以清楚窺之,中央區的2人、4人和8人不等的組合排列和環繞於周圍的小型辦公室,形塑成一個既有獨立的私人工作空間,又可容納附屬的共用設施,如會議室和廚房等。

  一個頗有新意的「盒子」,「不袗」與「玻璃」適時地扮演包容起印表機等技術設備的角色,避免這些設備所造成的凌亂。百葉窗、白色薄膜(塑膠)和布幕則滿足了空間堛瑭翿K性需求,同時又顯現空間的穿透性。辦公區域的吊頂以玻璃鋼窗結構分層而置,既美觀也能呈現極佳的反射亮度,並削減了環境中的暗淡色彩。地面塗上數道聚脂漆,刻意添入紅色,?這個寧靜的空間增添了一些靈動的色彩,展現了寧靜與靈動融合的平衡感,而水泥、鋼和玻璃則完美地詮釋了這個冷冽而大器的作品,進而塑造一個內斂而不失活力的新形象──寧靜以致遠。整理」周巽莉


Kun Ten transformed an abandoned industry facility into a design office. What appears to be challenging was to retain its existing tectonic texture while expanding its functional convenience to fit with office use. Concrete is the main character of the structure. The walls are formed by in-situ concrete and their ruined tranquility maintains well a nostalgic ambience. Ku Ten installed new elements echoing the existing quality of the space. Glass, cement and steel are used to keep the space in dialogue with its old textures. Its main space is a working area and each individual working quarter is like a compartment of a concrete !§jail-cell!‥ that quietly creates a reclusive sensation.

An elevator leads workers to the second floor where office line up. The lobby hall stands as a black globe that gives a metaphorical link to the founder!|s philosophy of a world where perfection and defection coexist. This art piece utters no voice while it pumps up a silent power that enlivens the space that is used to be a ruin.

Behind the lobby hall, a long gray partition stands to deflect views and a reception space stands aside. This reception has no redundant furnishings; only high-contrast prints of human portraits hang on the walls and only a few chairs are quietly placed here. In the office zone the existing stone columns remain yet are wrapped with heavy rustic concrete. Some steel girders were left deliberately exposed as the witnesses of the factory!|s old past.

Kun Ten laid out this office using two standards. One kept the existing quality of the factory, and its intent was to delineate various spaces for cohort grouping. In the central position there are divided offices for two, four or eight members. They form a surrounding layout and share public spaces like a lounge and meeting spaces.

The office also stands some !§boxes!‥ embraced by steel supports and a glass surface. They are functional zones shared by workers from different working zones. Shades and louver blinds or sometimes fabric curtain can veil off any visual penetration. Visual penetration is feasible and can allow light to perpetrate from one zone to another. Interior roofing maintains the existing structure while added glass receives natural light and evenly reflects interior lighting to a maximum level. One can find the flooring has been painted in several red stripes and this vivid color seems to give a fresh spirit to the space.

The office at first seems to preserve a sense of nostalgia while the transformation has given the space a new life. A tranquil delight that echoes the voice long gone has been mixed in a balance with the up-to-date energy of office life.
